Welcome to our website! Capital Transit is an energetic, three- and four-part vocal ensemble with musical accompaniment. Our tight harmonies bring to life oldies pop favorites from the ‘50s – ‘70s. What makes our group unique and showcases each of our talents is that, in addition to our harmonies, we accompany ourselves with multiple instruments, including keys, guitar, sax, flute, and hand percussion. This Triangle-based seasoned group of vocal musicians includes Laura Ridgeway, Lola Youngman, and Tim Smith. Dave Youngman adds vocals, keys, and guitar. We perform at outdoor events, private parties, and dances. Capital Transit provides hours of engaging entertainment and is sure to get you on your feet!
Capital Transit also offers a music history show for school groups – “From Bach to Doo-Wop: 500 Years of Music History in 50 Minutes” – an educational, animated, and interactive show for students, giving them a memorable and fun learning experience about the music of Pachelbel all the way to Chuck Berry.
